The most characteristically Spanish furniture of the early periods in its history are cabinets, called first inchesescritorio inches and then from around 1800 inchesVarguenos inches, made of wood ornamented on the outside with wrought iron. This Low three door cupboard supported on a stand has an overhanging rectangular top.
The stand has scrolled legs and a scrolled iron stretcher at the front and a turned wooden stretcher at the back. This solid, plain cabinet has centrally placed shield carving on the raised door panels and the door handles and hinges have been painted black, representing the iron work on the original cabinet.
The cabinet measures 3 inches = 75mm high x 7 inches = 178mm long x 1 3/4 inches = 45mm deep.
